Supporting Ukrainian Youth in Georgia: A Powerful New Partnership Between JA Georgia and Unite Together

Supporting Ukrainian youth in Georgia through stronger institutional cooperation, capacity building and inclusive educational opportunities is at the heart of a newly formalised partnership between Junior Achievement (JA) Georgia and Unite Together.

The two organisations have officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, marking an important step towards strengthening collaboration and contributing to the objectives of the PACE – Promoting Access, Collaboration and Empowerment for Ukrainian Youth project.

The Memorandum was signed by Elene Rtveladze, Deputy Director of Junior Achievement Georgia and PACE Project Manager, and Kateryna Shumei, Director of Unite Together.

The agreement establishes a foundation for closer cooperation between the organisations, with a shared interest in supporting Ukrainian young people living in Georgia and strengthening the capacity of organisations working with youth.

A New Partnership to Support Ukrainian Youth in Georgia

The signing of the Memorandum represents an important milestone in developing cooperation between JA Georgia and Unite Together.

During the meeting, representatives of both organisations discussed the objectives of the PACE project, its planned activities and potential areas for joint engagement.

The discussions also focused on possible forms of cooperation that would enable the organisations to share knowledge, exchange experience and contribute to initiatives supporting Ukrainian youth in Georgia.

By formalising their cooperation, JA Georgia and Unite Together have taken a step towards establishing a stronger framework for future joint activities.

The partnership reflects the importance of collaboration between organisations with shared objectives, particularly when addressing the educational, social and developmental needs of young people.

Strengthening Youth Organisations Through the PACE Project

A central objective of the PACE project is to strengthen organisations working with young people by developing their knowledge, institutional capacities and ability to respond effectively to the needs of Ukrainian youth.

Youth organisations play an important role in connecting young people with educational opportunities, supporting their personal development and encouraging active participation in communities.

However, delivering effective youth programmes requires continuous professional development, access to relevant knowledge and opportunities for cooperation with other organisations.

PACE addresses these priorities by promoting capacity building, knowledge exchange and collaboration among organisations involved in youth work.

Through its planned activities, the project seeks to support organisations in strengthening their approaches, exchanging practical experience and developing the competencies needed to work effectively with Ukrainian young people.

The cooperation between JA Georgia and Unite Together is aligned with these objectives and creates a foundation for exploring activities that contribute to the project’s implementation.

Exploring Opportunities for Joint Activities and Knowledge Sharing

During the meeting, the organisations considered potential areas and forms of future collaboration within the PACE framework.

One important area is capacity building for organisations working with young people. Strengthening institutional knowledge and professional competencies can help youth organisations develop more responsive and inclusive activities.

Another area is experience sharing and mutual learning. Cooperation between organisations provides opportunities to exchange practical approaches, discuss common challenges and identify solutions relevant to the communities they serve.

The partnership may also support improved coordination and engagement with Ukrainian communities in Georgia. Developing stronger connections between organisations can help ensure that planned activities take account of local needs and are accessible to their intended participants.

In addition, the organisations can explore opportunities to encourage inclusive youth participation, helping young people access educational and developmental experiences that contribute to their future opportunities.

These areas offer potential directions for cooperation, while the specific activities and implementation arrangements can be developed through further dialogue between the partner organisations.

Why Cooperation Matters for Ukrainian Youth in Georgia

Supporting Ukrainian youth in Georgia involves more than providing individual educational activities. It also requires building a strong network of organisations capable of responding to changing needs and creating sustainable opportunities.

Collaboration can help youth organisations make better use of existing knowledge, resources and experience.

When organisations work together, they can identify shared priorities, strengthen communication and explore approaches that benefit both youth workers and the young people participating in their programmes.

For Ukrainian young people living in Georgia, cooperation between organisations can contribute to an environment that supports inclusion, encourages participation and facilitates access to relevant learning opportunities.

By strengthening organisational capacities, initiatives such as PACE also aim to create benefits that extend beyond individual project activities.

The newly signed Memorandum between JA Georgia and Unite Together contributes to this broader approach by formalising a shared commitment to cooperation and youth empowerment.

Moving Forward: From Partnership to Collaborative Action

The signing of the Memorandum marks the beginning of a more structured phase of cooperation between Junior Achievement Georgia and Unite Together.

Building on the discussions held during the meeting, both organisations can explore practical opportunities to contribute to the implementation of PACE activities and advance their shared objectives.

Future cooperation will focus on identifying relevant areas for joint engagement, exchanging expertise and exploring activities that strengthen the capacities of organisations supporting Ukrainian youth in Georgia.

For JA Georgia, the agreement represents another step towards developing meaningful partnerships that connect the objectives of the PACE project with organisations engaged in supporting Ukrainian communities.

The Memorandum also highlights the value of working together to build stronger, more inclusive and responsive youth support networks.

Through this partnership, JA Georgia and Unite Together reaffirm their commitment to collaboration, capacity building and creating better opportunities for Ukrainian young people living in Georgia.
