Ukrainian Youth in Georgia: Empowering Young People Through Stronger Cooperation

Supporting Ukrainian youth in Georgia through stronger partnerships, inclusive education and new opportunities for personal and professional development is a key priority for Junior Achievement (JA) Georgia under the PACE project.

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with organisations supporting Ukrainian communities, JA Georgia has taken an important step towards developing closer collaboration with Ukrainian House in Batumi.

Elene Rtveladze, Deputy Director and Project Manager at JA Georgia, visited Ukrainian House Batumi and met with its Manager, Katarina Dvuhrosheva. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation under the PACE – Promoting Access, Collaboration and Empowerment for Ukrainian Youth project, exchanging information about ongoing initiatives and discussing potential future activities.

The discussion highlighted the importance of building partnerships that can expand access to educational opportunities, develop practical skills and support the social inclusion of Ukrainian young people living in Georgia.

Strengthening Local Cooperation to Support Ukrainian Youth in Georgia

Supporting Ukrainian youth in Georgia requires cooperation between educational organisations, youth-focused institutions and community-based initiatives that understand the needs of young people.

During the visit, JA Georgia and Ukrainian House Batumi discussed their respective activities, organisational experience and shared priorities in youth development.

The meeting provided an opportunity to identify areas in which closer cooperation could contribute to the objectives of the PACE project while strengthening local connections with Ukrainian communities.

For JA Georgia, collaboration with organisations such as Ukrainian House Batumi is particularly valuable because community-based partners can help connect educational initiatives with the young people they are designed to support.

By establishing stronger relationships with local organisations, JA Georgia aims to encourage the participation of Ukrainian youth in learning opportunities and community activities that contribute to their development and inclusion.

Exploring Opportunities in Education, Entrepreneurship and Employability

A central topic of the meeting was the potential to develop joint initiatives that support Ukrainian youth in Georgia across several important areas.

Education and skills development

Access to educational opportunities plays an important role in helping young people develop knowledge, confidence and practical skills. Through closer collaboration, the organisations aim to explore ways of connecting Ukrainian youth with relevant non-formal educational activities and learning experiences.

Entrepreneurship and financial literacy

Entrepreneurship education can help young people develop creativity, problem-solving skills and initiative. JA Georgia’s experience in entrepreneurship education and financial literacy provides a foundation for exploring activities that encourage young people to develop ideas, understand economic opportunities and build essential life skills.

Employability and career readiness

Developing employability skills is another area of potential cooperation. Educational activities focused on communication, teamwork, planning and career awareness could contribute to preparing young people for future professional opportunities.

Social inclusion and community engagement

Supporting Ukrainian youth in Georgia also means encouraging meaningful participation in community life. Cooperation between organisations can create opportunities for young people to build relationships, participate in shared activities and strengthen their sense of belonging.

Personal development and empowerment

Confidence, leadership and the ability to make informed decisions are important aspects of youth development. The organisations discussed the value of opportunities that help young people recognise their potential, develop their abilities and participate actively in shaping their futures.

These areas represent potential directions for future collaboration rather than activities that have already been formally agreed or launched.

The Role of the PACE Project in Building Stronger Partnerships

The PACE – Promoting Access, Collaboration and Empowerment for Ukrainian Youth project provides a framework for strengthening cooperation and expanding opportunities for Ukrainian young people.

Through the project, JA Georgia seeks to contribute to a more inclusive environment where young people can access relevant educational resources, strengthen practical competencies and participate in activities supporting their personal and professional growth.

An important element of this approach is engagement with local organisations working directly with Ukrainian communities.

Such cooperation can support the identification of relevant needs, encourage participation and help ensure that future activities are accessible and meaningful to the young people involved.

The meeting with Ukrainian House Batumi reflects this approach by creating an opportunity to exchange experience and consider how the organisations’ knowledge and resources could complement each other.

Strengthening these connections is also consistent with the wider objective of promoting collaboration between organisations committed to youth empowerment and inclusion.

Looking Ahead: Creating More Opportunities Together

The visit marked a constructive step towards developing a closer relationship between JA Georgia and Ukrainian House Batumi.

Both organisations expressed an interest in exploring opportunities that could help Ukrainian young people living in Georgia gain access to additional educational, entrepreneurial and personal development experiences.

Future cooperation may include identifying shared priorities, exploring possible joint activities and creating connections between PACE project opportunities and the Ukrainian community in Batumi.

For JA Georgia, strengthening cooperation with local partners is an important part of ensuring that the project’s objectives translate into practical opportunities for young people.

By encouraging collaboration, exchanging experience and building relationships between organisations, the PACE project aims to contribute to more inclusive and supportive environments for Ukrainian youth.

JA Georgia remains committed to expanding cooperation with organisations that share its vision of empowering young people through education, skills development and meaningful opportunities for participation.
